live vic...hmmmmm lots of response on this one eh... There's a whole new metal crowd that have never heard of Mission of Christ? what about Armorous? or Tantrum... these bands where all breaking ground on the hum drum Heavy Metal rock music scene that the masses where into back then. but shittttt that was near twenty years ago. now if you asked which is the better Motley Crue album.... there would be a whole SOFA full of bic lighter flickin folks responding to this thing.... hmmmm. Mission of Christ and Armorous where on the Victoria forefront of Speed Metal! but like many they never made it past the Underground. Lookin back.... these bands live shows where insane! And very powerfull! Vancouver had Karrion, Blasphamy, Fratricide..... ahhhh Now the #1 for me in this kinda genra was BEYOND POSSESSIONS from Calgary! Not to dismiss the USA... they had the first Metallica album, and better still Suicidal! These bands all got lots of play on my record player and tapedeck... Still i consider myself a big Mission of Christ Fan and i had the luck of beeing at most of thier Live Shows... they used to blow the basement doors off the Rats Nest... and blast the tables over at the Harpos Caberet! I saw them play at the Kennedy Hall in Surrey and that WAS a scarey gathering of lower mainland metal Heads!which demo is better is a question thats hard to answer because i recon Griph and only a few others actually have this music. Steve McBean needs to be contacted and maybe these demos need to be re-released.... or maybe judging by the response to this message Silence in the grave is all there has to be! Bloody Bettys Christmas 2006

o.k.Bulesque..... yes i agree, it's a nice tease, compared to the peelers down at the other places. But I'm sorry i don't get Betty Blood.,,, so i didn't watch any of thier christmas show. maybe i peeked a few times but i don't usually look at 16 year old girls. Now the last time i saw the Bloody Bettys was at halloween... i watched as they treated an innocent looking girl to teasing and bullieing... threw her around made her do things that looked like they where against her will (i know it was an act but this is what it looked like) then they put her in a cage and then i don't know they pulled her guts out..... i just think its fuckin wierd. but i'm not a fan of horror so..... i'll tell ya back in the day just up at the Kings Hotel there used to be strippers that where real... bigger older women who got up on stage and shook the hell outta thier big natural hangers and gyrated thier unshaven welcome matts... (they did kinda look like matt jaks face), they where real dancers and i took it all in at my 17 years of age! anyway i went for the music.... i havent seen the sweathogs for quite awhile... pot smoken hippies that wanna be punk? I don't know... they had a few catchy songs that almost sounded like oi. Then the keg killers.... punks who are punk. you gotta admit they have some really catchy songs... and you can hear the lyrics... its not not just a bunch of screaming. They do great covers by bands like Teenage Head, The Dolls, and the Clash... this is Victorias real punk band. They even played their underground hit "Smokes"!now inbetween one of thier songs dust yells out "Who out there likes Iron Maiden?" the crowd let out a huge cheer! then dust yells out... "What a bunch of fuckin idiots!" the crowd was silent. I laughed so hard! anyway as i watch another crowd of punks enter the scene with thier arms totally tattooed and they walk around beeing.... i had on the bill of my mesh back hat the words "Jesus Saves" .... in a room full of Satanists and really tough lookin guys not one of them challanged me and said my hat was bullshit. anyway i ain't a Christian but it is the real reason we get a few days off work. 2006 years ago a man was born and he was apparently the son of God. 2006 years ago the world WAS really insane and instead of going to see the Bloody Bettys you got to see the real thing.... so maybe we can thank Jesus for at least trying to make the world better and in a way it worked because even thought the world is full of posers (like religious fanatics) there is some folks who will help thy brother/sisters and just plain love.... and thats what i think my God wants us to do. Hi Holger
we where just doing the thanks page on the book last week and for some reason your name is on the list.... the project was contributed by Jason Flower and we think he might have added your name... But Kev Smith and I both didn't recognize your name... sorry but who are you... I hope I'm not beein stupid for asking this question... it was just last week and Kev and i looked at each other and said "Who's Holger Summer?" Its just funny that i should get an e-mail from you the very next week.... this is funny.
ANYWAY... All Your Ears Can Hear.... the Cds have been produced and i have three boxes of CdS ready to go into the books. The book is 90% done and we are hoping to be holding a Mock copy of the book this week coming up. If it all looks good we will go to print early in the new year... there will be a CD/Book release party in the beggining of March when Jason arrives back... we hope to have live bands but nothing has been planned yet. Thats a whole nother game... So you can plan on seeing it done very soon.
The makeing of this project has been going on for way too many years but it is just way to cool to abandon.
I'll keep your e-mail and let you know when its done. Please send $5000 dollars so we can get the book printed.... just joking!

PUnK AtTitUDE a film by Don Letts

At a time when there is a ton o info on punk music and the history of what the hell happened.... a movie by Don Letts sneaks in. Man oh Man this is one documentary that should be watched if your at all interested in music that the fuckin Radio never payed attention to. Punk Rock... I just finnished watching the first disc of this two DVD set and i am so riled that i will have to rest before i watch the second disc. Holy shit.... this film digs deep into MC5, Velvet Underground, New York Dolls, and ..... ThE STOOGES! Then you go to New YorK for some Ramones and Dictators, and bang your in England getting your face made up with what was going on there. The people telling the story are the people who where there..... i just think this is one of the best documentarys I've seen in awhile.... It exposes alot of history. Henry Rollins and Jello Biafra breath into what happened in the US... ohhh yes and holy shit again.... 1hr13mins into the film if you look to the left of the stage you get a brief moment to see Gregg Ginn work his guitar! Then Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Agnostic Front! and on...... Then it seems to take a pause in the late eighties and they seem to say they don't really know what was happening.... any guesses?.... This is where Don Letts looses a point in his doc.... The late eighties punk was beeing fusioned by METAL.... but yet again thats a whole nother gun that has been studied by.... uhhhh Victorias Sam Dunn. And yes its not really Punk orrr is it?. The early nineties and ending the documentary they talk about Nirvanna... and what the masses want. Big record companies and money honey. The punk world evolved into Blink 182.... Greenday.... Rancid. These bands have the clout how come they are still letting Bush run thier country? The movie ends with saying.... "For Joe Strummer"
