SUNN O))) Kannon
I wrote this during the use of this record. I do not do drugs but this record acted like a drug. In the right environment you can feel it. SUNN is just weird its not music its sound... heavy drone sound. Always better at full volume but the neighbors might not like the rattle of windows. Sometimes its nice to be exposed to weird stuff, but i am sure most of my facebook friends will not get it. Here's the review that i forgot to send to Absolute newspaper so it didn't get printed.
Track 1: Kannon 1
The sound begins and I started to feel bewildered. A few minutes into it and I want to leave.The sounds seems to reach a higher level and my mouth does an involuntary frown smile. A slight tearing of my eyes begins. Suddenly a mother alien starts singing in the background. I have committed to the journey and see it through but still feel very bewildered at the end.
Track 2: Kannon 2
This is the one that you want to turn up a little louder. It's plain yet deep and then it just goes deeper. I can no longer sit and have to lay down. I can see this sound with my eyes closed. I feel like i am in a boat entering a fjord. The trees disappear and the rock walls become even more baron and rough. At the end of the fjord is a waterfall. The ship goes into the waterfall and everything sounds a little more silent. I picture being underwater.... then the sound stops and i feel like i have drowned.
Track 3: Kannon
I am completely flat on the floor. This piece starts and i feel really heavy and tired. I passed out and came too at the end with a really sore chest. 33 minutes of SUNN might be a bit much. - ricky JaK
